Development Begins on an Access Control System That Works with Biometric Authentication Terminals
We have begun developing an integrated management system that works with biometric authentication terminals to make access control for organizations more efficient and more advanced. It is a SaaS platform that centrally manages employees' entry and exit permissions and provides group management, per-door access control, and real-time monitoring of entry and exit logs.
The Project's Challenge
What sets this project apart is its support for multiple authentication devices and multiple authentication patterns. Palm, face, and card authentication can be combined for each employee, achieving both reliable identity verification with no impersonation and smooth entry and exit free from the burden of managing keys and cards.
The system is also designed to manage entry and exit for tens of thousands of employees, with fast search and analysis of the entry and exit logs that accumulate at high frequency. Device operations, from managing the serial numbers of authentication terminals to updating their firmware, are also brought together in a single admin screen.
For communication with the authentication terminals, we adopted a push-based protocol in which the terminal connects to the server. Without bringing complex configuration into each site's network, and while ensuring security, permission changes and firmware updates can be delivered reliably to each terminal.
Because this is complex development that involves hardware and cannot be completed with software alone, the whole team is taking it on with a great deal of excitement.
Business Expansion as a SaaS
The system is planned as a SaaS business model that can be used across multiple organizations and sites. From the dashboard, administrators can handle everything from registering employees and setting permissions by group and by door to searching and analyzing entry and exit history and receiving alert notifications when something abnormal happens. We will help organizations unify their security policies, streamline administrative work, and support decision-making by visualizing entry and exit data.
