1. Basic Policy on the Protection of Personal Information

Within the scope of our business activities, we will specify the purposes of use of personal information, and we will collect, use, and provide personal information fairly and properly, only to the extent necessary to achieve those purposes. We will also take measures to ensure that personal information we have collected is not used for purposes other than those specified.

4. Handling of Personal Information

(hereinafter “we,” “us,” or “our”) will handle the personal information of the companies and users (hereinafter collectively “Users”) who use our website and co-creation business services (hereinafter collectively the “Services”) as follows. Terms used in this text are defined in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter the “APPI”) and relevant laws and regulations.

We will collect personal information by lawful and proper means, within the scope necessary for our business.

4.5. Purposes of Use of Personal Information

We will use personal information only within the scope of the purposes of use listed below or the purposes of use that are evident from the circumstances of its collection, and will not use it for any other purpose, except where the User has given consent or where permitted by laws and regulations.

    When we have employees handle personal data, we will thoroughly communicate the proper handling of personal information, provide appropriate training, and conduct necessary and proper supervision.

  4. Supervision of Entrusted Parties

    When we entrust the handling of personal data, we will select as the entrusted party a partner company that has implemented appropriate security control measures, and will conduct necessary and appropriate supervision of the entrusted party.

  5. Use of Statistically Processed Data

    Based on the personal data provided to us, we may create statistical data that has been processed so that individuals cannot be identified. We may use such statistical data without any restriction.

4.9. Voluntary Provision of Personal Information

Providing personal information is voluntary. If you do not provide some of your personal information, we may be unable to respond to the matter you contacted us about.

4.10. Collection of Personally Referable Information

In connection with providing the Services, we will use access analysis tools, user behavior visualization tools, and similar tools provided by third parties. We will obtain the information on Users’ site usage collected through these tools, together with the results of its analysis, link it with Users’ personal data, and use it for the purpose of improving our services.

4.11. Use of Cookies and Other Technologies

  1. In providing the Services, we may use cookies and similar technologies. We may automatically obtain information such as Users’ cookie information, the advertisements and web pages Users have viewed, and Users’ usage environment from Users’ browsers and record it on our servers in order to understand the usage status of the Services and related matters, and may use this information to improve the quality of the Services.

  2. Users who wish to disable cookies can do so by changing their web browser settings. However, if cookies are disabled, Users may be unable to use the Services normally.

  3. In addition to the provisions of paragraph 1, we may use Google Analytics to obtain information about the electronic communication devices that Users use when using the Services (device identifiers, IP addresses, location information, cookies, usage logs, etc.), and may use this information for the purposes of analyzing personal information about Users and, using the results, measuring and analyzing site usage and improving the site. 4.12. Requests Concerning Retained Personal Data

  1. If a User requests notification of the purposes of use of retained personal data, we will notify the User without delay, except in the following cases.

    Where the purposes of use of the retained personal data by which the User concerned is identified are clear

    Where there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the User concerned or a third party

    Where there is a risk of harm to our rights or legitimate interests

    Where it is necessary to cooperate with a national government agency or a local government in performing duties prescribed by laws and regulations, and there is a risk of interfering with the performance of those duties

  2. If a User requests disclosure of retained personal data, we will disclose it without delay, except in the following cases.

    Where there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the User concerned or a third party

    Where there is a risk of seriously impeding the proper conduct of our business

    Where it would result in a violation of laws and regulations

  3. If a User requests correction, addition, or deletion of retained personal data, we will conduct an investigation without delay and respond appropriately based on the results.

  4. If a User requests suspension of use or erasure of retained personal data, and it is found that the request is well founded, we will respond appropriately.

5. Revisions to the Privacy Policy

We may change the contents of the Privacy Policy when we deem it necessary. If we change the Privacy Policy, we will give advance notice of the contents of the revised Privacy Policy and its effective date, by posting on the website of the Services or by any other method we deem appropriate. However, if we make a change for which a User’s consent is required under laws and regulations, we shall obtain consent by a method we deem appropriate. In addition, if a User uses the Services on or after the date specified in the notice, the User will be deemed to have agreed to the revised Privacy Policy, except where its effect is denied under laws and regulations.
